Three full years of solitude..

  By _ram-jaane' on July 12, 2005 2:28 PM | 3 Comments

So I've been living the single life for 3 years now. An eye opener in many ways. Though my 1 relationship was certainly a steep learning curve & wasn't bad while it lasted (2 years on & off) its ultimate fall was an absolute disaster making my life hell for a good year. That was all 3 years ago. Thats over 1000 days. Gone. When you look at the date on some days & see its familiarity, you just wonder where these days fly by. Today is one of those days.

Things either are or are not - there is no when.

My memories (few and far between as they may be ;) carry no real perception of time. I typically try to tie things down to occurring within the time-frame of long-term events for which I have specific dates (such as University - in some cases I can even get it down to being as specific as before or after Christmas of a particular year at University, or occurring during a particular Summer, Easter or Christmas holiday).

That's why I started keeping a journal, except I kept forgetting to write in it...

Amusingly I can now remember the date for Valentines Day because it was when I watched Hannibal, and conversely I can remember when I watched Hannibal because it was on Valentines Day of my year out (February 14th, 2001). I also remember it was a Wednesday, meaning the general release date (in the UK at least) was Friday 16th February 2001. We also watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon that day. Good times.

This has only marginal relevance to your post beyond your having a better memory than mine, but I guess I'm just in a rambly mood :D

"Better to have never seen you in my dreams than to wake and reach for hands that are not there."

I read that somewhere recently. I have no idea where.
